Commissioner Kate Jenkins remembers Uncle Alf as a leading figure in the Victorian Aboriginal community and instrumental in bringing positive change for many.
“Uncle Alf played a significant role in the self determination of Aboriginal people,” Ms Jenkins said.
“He helped shape many of the state's key Aboriginal services. His dedication to achieving equality will not be forgotten.
“His passing is a great loss to the community and to the state of Victoria.”
The Commission offers Dr Bamblett’s family and friends our deepest sympathies.
