Waiter, is that inclusion in my soup? A new recipe to improve business performance - Nov 2012

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission in partnership with Deloitte Australia have launched new research into the business benefits of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Download a PDF of the report.

Waiter, is that inclusion in my soup? A new recipe to improve business performance is the first research of its kind into how diversity and inclusion have the capacity to lift business performance, drive innovation, customer service, collaboration and engagement.

The research, which included a survey of 1550 employees in three major Australian workplaces, clearly shows the impact of workforce diversity on organisational performance and adds real weight to the idea that when a diverse workforce is valued through an inclusive workplace culture, business benefits flow.

The report contributes to an important conversation about workplace health, both for individuals and business as a whole. Building on the leading thought Deloitte has brought to this area, this research makes a strong case for the business benefits of diversity and inclusion – showing that diversity can be leveraged through inclusion to deliver tangible performance benefits.
