Marci’s passion in life is to impact the world in a positive way. As a person from a Sri Lankan background of strong Catholic faith, Marci has always been interested in promoting multifaith and multicultural relations

“I have been blessed with a loving family and feel very strongly that the values that I’ve been brought up with should be shared by all,” says Marci. “To have universal rights is the ideal that society should work towards.”

Marci is in her third year of Arts/Commerce at Monash University, majoring in International Politics, Sociology and Inequities and Macroeconomics. She worked on Social Justice Issues when she was High School Captain, is the leader of her Parish Youth Group and in currently involved in local community and State level profile raising for young Victorians.

As a Human Rights Youth Ambassador with the Commission, Marci hopes to use her already established networks to educate other young people about the Victorian Charter of Human Rights.

Marci was nominated by the Victorian Multifaith Multicultural Youth Network.
